Contemporary Issues in Aging
In order to have and maintain the quality of life for an older person one must remain active in home and in the community, being involved in activities and socializing with others is a must along with proper diet and exercises. Maintaining a stress free and smoke free life is essential as well. Research shows that, “Exercise is an appealing strategy for improving quality of life, balance, and reducing the risk of falls’ (Papaioannou, Adachi, Winegard, Ferko, Parkinso, Cook & McCartney, 2003). Many also find church and social groups a great support in keeping them active along with working in the community.
